Public sector finances monthly release

Pre-release access list

The list below show those individuals who receive access in advance of publication for briefing purposes to the monthly first release of public sector finances. This release is published jointly with the Office of National Statistics (ONS). These are regarded as market sensitive statistics, and pre-release access arrangements are in line with the provisions of the protocol on release practices for such statistics. In particular pre-release access is allowed no earlier that 40.5 hours (counting working days only) prior to release of the data at 9.30 am..

As well as the people on this list, who receive pre-release access to data for briefing purposes, there are a number of people in Treasury and in ONS who will have pre-release access to public sector finances monthly data as management information, or for quality assurance purposes. A further number of people in both Treasury and ONS will have access because they are involved in compilation of the data, or for other operational reasons, including placing the data on the website. An audit trail is maintained by Treasury of all those in the department who have pre-release access to the data, and for what purpose. This is available on request.
