Bulletin number 29 from HM Treasury  

This is the twenty-ninth bulletin covering developments on the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA).

DTI – Electronic Commerce Regulations

The DTI’s Regulations - SI 2002 No.2013 The Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 - were made and laid on 31 July 2002.

The Treasury’s amendment to these regulations - SI 2002 2015 The Electronic Commerce Directive (Financial Services and Markets) (Amendment) Regulations 2002 - was also made and laid on 31 July 2002.

We intend that the remaining Statutory Instrument The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Financial Promotion)(Amendment)(Electronic Commerce Directive) Order 2002 will be made on the 20 August 2002 in the form approved in draft by Parliament, and will come into effect on 21 August 2002. 

Laying of secondary legislation under the FSMA

SI 2002 No.1777 The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Commencement of Mortgage Regulation) (Amendment) Order 2002 was made and laid on 12 July 2002.
