Tax Elected Funds

The Government announced a package of proposals to enhance the competitiveness of the UK as a place for funds to locate in Budget 2008. One of key proposals was that the Government would engage with industry to consider a direct tax exemption for Authorised Investment Funds based in the UK.

This discussion paper sets out the Government's thinking on how to deliver a more competitive tax regime for Authorised Investment Funds.

The Government seeks industry views on this proposed tax framework by Wednesday 22 October 2008.
