Consultations & legislation
11 May 2009
As indicated in the Budget, and the November Pre-Budget Report, the Government is conducting a detailed review of the resolution arrangments for failing investment banks. This report outlines the Government’s thinking on the changes to market practice, regulation and insolvency law that might be needed to deal with any future investment banking failure.
The Government has received more than 20 responses to this consultation. The authorities will use these consultation responses, as well as further input from the Advisory Panel and other stakeholders to publish a full consultation paper by late autumn, outlining possible market and regulatory approaches and any proposed legislative solutions.
The consultation is available in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF). If you do not have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer you can download the software free of charge from the Adobe website.
