This document sets out a draft Insider Dealing (Securities and Regulated Markets) (Amendment) Order 2002 which amends the Insider Dealing (Securities and Regulated Markets) Order 1994. It updates the list of regulated markets for the purposes of Part V of the Criminal Justice Act 1993 and introduces a generic definition of a regulated market. It also extends the insider dealing regime to dealing in financial derivative contracts traded on the markets of certain overseas derivative investment exchanges.
As the Government intends to lay the draft order as soon as possible, there will be an 8 week consultation period. Comments should therefore be received no later than 19 April to:
