Consultations & legislation
28 January 2009
The Government is today publishing Ending child poverty: making it happen which outlines the Government’s proposals to take forward legislation in 2009 to eradicate child poverty by 2020.
These proposals build on Ending child poverty: everybody’s business published alongside Budget 2008. Ending child poverty: making it happen sets out the Government’s vision towards 2020. It makes proposals on how legislation will drive action against this vision at all levels and invites stakeholder’s views on a number of key questions.
The Government invites responses to the issues raised in this discussion paper by 11th March 2009. Responses should be sent by e-mail to childpoverty.consultation@childpovertyunit.gsi.gov.uk, submitted online at http://www.dcsf.gov.uk or by post to Child Poverty Consultation, Child Poverty Unit, Sanctuary Buildings, Great Smith Street, London SW1P 3BT.
