The Treasury is conducting a 12-week consultation aimed at seeking stakeholder's views on some proposed legislative changes to the Building Societies Act 1986.

This consultation document should be read in conjunction with the attached draft Partial Regulatory Impact Assessment and Statutory Instruments which will introduce the proposed legislative changes.
The consultation will be open from 9 November 2006 to 1 February 2007. Please ensure we receive your response by the closing date.
