The Scottish and Northern Ireland Banknotes Regulations 2009: a consultation on secondary legislation

The Banking Act 2009 received Royal Assent on 12th February 2009. Part 6 of the Banking Act will enable the Government and the Bank of England to make provision to enhance protection for holders of Scottish and Northern Ireland banknotes, and to update, modernise and strengthen the regime for commercial note issue. The Government is now consulting on secondary legislation to be made under Part 6 of the Banking Act.
