Implementing a landline duty: consultation responses

The Digital Britain White Paper announced the introduction of a Landline Duty to help to fund the roll-out of Next Generation Access - superfast broadband to 90 per cent of the country by 2017.

Following the 2009 Pre-Budget Report, the Government consulted on the draft legislation and impacts of the duty. This document summarises the responses received, and outlines the Government’s response.

A final stage Impact Assessment is published separately in Budget 2010: Impact Assessments.
