Kitty Ussher MP
Economic Secretary to the Treasury

Kitty Ussher MP was appointed as Economic Secretary to the Treasury in June 2007.
She has been Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Minister of State at the Department of Trade and Industry (2006-07) and has served as member of the Public Accounts Committee (2005-07).
Kitty Ussher holds an undergraduate degree in politics and economics (PPE) from Oxford University and an economics MSc from Birkbeck College, London. Kitty previously worked as a special adviser to Patricia Hewitt at the Department for Trade and Industry and as the Chief Economist for Britain in Europe. She has also served as a local councillor where she chaired the finance and environment scrutiny committees. She has been the Member of Parliament for Burnley since 2005.
Kitty lives in Burnley with her husband and daughter. In her spare time Kitty enjoys hill walking and spending time with her family, and she is a keen supporter of Burnley Football Club.
