Securing Our Future Health: Taking A Long-Term View - The Wanless Review

'Securing Our Future Health: Taking A Long-Term View’ - an independent review by Derek Wanless - is the first ever evidence-based assessment of the long-term resource requirements for the NHS.

It concludes that in order to meet people’s expectations and to deliver the highest quality over the next 20 years, the UK will need to devote more resources to health care and that this must be matched by reform to ensure that these resources are used effectively.

Follow this link for the main report, including Derek Wanless’s letter to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, outlining his Review’s main conclusions.

The Review also commissioned 'Health care systems in eight countries: trends and challenges', a report produced by the London School of Economics and Political Science hub of the European Observatory on Health Care Systems.
