M25 Heathrow Terminal 5
M25 Heathrow Terminal 5
00001The Project
The construction of Stage 2 of the M25 Spur Road, a dedicated free-flow access to Terminal 5 (T5) at Heathrow Airport.
T5 Spur Road Details
The proposed Spur Road connects T5 at Heathrow Airport to the widened M25 motorway. The road is of motorway standard with dual two-lane carriageways, hard shoulders and a statutory speed limit of 40 mph. The Spur Road starts from a new roundabout located above the airport's Western Perimeter Road which has been built as part of the T5 development.
From this roundabout the road passes over Stanwell Moor Road (A3044) and cross the valley of the River Colne on an east-west alignment to the north of Bedford Court Estate. The existing interchange at M25 Junction 14 has been extended, both to the north and south, to accommodate free-flow connections between the Spur Road and the M25.
The road has been open to the public when the new Heathrow Terminal 5 building was completed in April 2008.
Funding
This part of the Balfour Beatty M25 J12-15 contract has been funded by Heathrow Airport Limited.
