The Project

Safety improvement work to replace the Kimbers Lane Footbridge deck has now been completed.

Removal of the concrete bridge deck and centre column support was required as the central support had been damaged by vehicle impact. The new steel footbridge deck has no central support, which will reduce the risk of future vehicle impacts.

The pedestrian access ramps have also been modified to carry the new bridge deck.

The traffic management and restricted speed limit remains in place for the A404(M) Western Region Railway Bridge Replacement scheme. For further information about the A404(M) Western Region Railway Bridge replacement scheme, please go to www.highways.gov.uk/a404mwrrb.

Please note that this information is not updated in real time. Please check Traffic England for the latest information and current traffic conditions.
