A21 Sedlescombe to Hastings Resurfacing
A21 Sedlescombe to Hastings Resurfacing
The Project
The Highways Agency carried out resurfacing works on the A21 between Sedlescombe and Hastings in East Sussex from Monday 22 February for three weeks.
It involved resurfacing sections of the carriageway between the B2244 junction near Sedlescombe and the A28 junction near Hastings overnight between 8pm and 6am.
For the safety of road users and the workforce, whilst the overnight resurfacing was carried out, there were lane closures of one carriageway at a time with a temporary speed limit of 40mph. Temporary traffic lights were in use and road users escorted past the works at 10mph.
Whilst resurfacing took place near local road junctions on the A21, it was necessary to close the junctions. Road users followed fully signed local road diversion route.
