M4 Junction 8/9 to 10 Hard Shoulder Strengthening
The Project
Work to improve safety and tackle congestion on to the M4 between junction 8/9 at Maidenhead and junction 10 at Wokingham has now been completed.
The Highways Agency has strengthened the hard shoulder and resurfaced the inside lane on both carriageways between junctions 8/9 and 10, ahead of the planned roll-out of Managed Motorways on the M4 between junctions 3 and 12. Managed Motorways will see the hard shoulder opened up to traffic as an additional lane during peak times.
