M3 J3-2 Hard Shoulder Strengthening
The Project
The major maintenance scheme on the M3 between junction 3 and 2 is now complete. Work was carried out between Kitsmead Lane overbridge and the junction 3 overbridge in order to replace and strengthen sections of the existing hard shoulder. Associated drainage works were carried out at the same time and a new safety barrier was installed.
Work on the 3.9km stretch of motorway began in December 2009 and was completed in July 2010.
