The Project

Covingham

The noise fence is located about 2 miles north of junction 15 of the M4, starting immediately after the Public Right of Way at Partridge Close.

Between Partridge Close and Wanborough Road over bridge the noise fence is approximately 3.5m high (11' 6") and extends for about 718m (785 yds).  The fence is built on the housing side of the drainage ditch on a cutting slope and is between 8m (26ft) and 10m (33ft) from the carriageway.

North of Wanborough Road over bridge the noise fence is approximately 3.2m high (10' 6").  The fence is positioned in the verge between 8m (26 ft) and 10m (33 ft) from the carriageway.

Kingsdown

The noise fence starts about 5 miles north of junction 15 of the M4, just after Kingsdown Road over bridge.  The fence extends for about 753m (823 yds) terminating just off Hyde Road and is 3.5m high (11' 6").

Construction was completed on 31 March 2010
