The Project

The Highways Agency carried out sign and road marking safety improvements at the M25 junction 6 anticlockwise exit slip road near Godstone in Surrey.  This work required the temporary closure of the slip road at night.

The improvement work took place on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th August and Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th August 2009.

The work will improve driver awareness of the traffic signal controlled junction ahead and the possibility of queuing traffic.

In addition to upgrading and replacement of road signs and markings,  a new sign was put up warning drivers of the potential for queuing traffic on the slip road. The new signs are illuminated by solar powered units.

The work was done under a series of night time slip road closures which were required in order to provide a safer environment in which to carry out the work.

This is part of our ongoing work on the network to continually improve safety for all road users, and we thank drivers for their patience whilst we carried out the work.
