The Project

We have carrided out work on the construction of a fourth arm at the junction of Bridge Street with the A5 (Watling Street) at Churchbridge, Cannock in Staffordshire. This provides a connection to Lakeside Boulevard which is the main access road to the new Lakeside Park development to the south of the A5.

The work commenced on the 27th July 2009 and was completed in October 2009 and included local widening of the A5 with new signs, lighting, footways, refuges, roadmarkings and surfacing. The new junction will be controlled by a MOVA traffic signal system which will incorporate crossing phases for pedestrians.

There are only a few cones left stopping traffic going into the access as this is not yet open.
