The Project
The scheme involved the replacement of the existing bridge deck, the modification to existing abutments and the demolition of redundant piers. The refurbishment required two weekend closures of the A19 to enable the demolition of the existing bridge deck and placing of new bridge beams. The scheme started on 6th July 2009 and was completed on 30th November 2009 at an estimated cost of £1.9m.
