Here are some photographs showing some elements of construction process

cones, temporary signing and road markings put out on the M20/M26 Junction

Traffic Management (cones, temporary signing and road markings) were put out on the M20/M26 Junction.  This Traffic Management allowed the works to be carried out in a safe manner for the road user and road worker.

The cones and temporary bright yellow road studs marked out the 'narrow lanes'. Using narrow lanes meant we kept three lanes open to traffic on the M20 whilst allowing for a small safety zone between the running lanes and construction workers.  That helped to limit delays during the improvements.

The mandatory 50mph limit was required to help you make customer's journey safe and reliable because narrow lanes limit driving space compared to standard motorway lanes.

This photograph shows the temporary steel barrier that was in place to protect road workers on the Coastbound route where the M26 and M20 merge.

Green Herptile fencing

Green Herptile fencing was installed at certain locations to prevent protected species from entering the works site. Vegetation clearance works were completed to allow room for the lighting columns to be installed.
