The Project

The scheme involved the installation of MOVA control to existing traffic signals. MOVA (Microprocessor Optimised Vehicle Actuation) is an adaptive traffic signal control system, it uses advanced traffic control algorithms to increase capacity and minimise delay at traffic signals.  The algorithms are based on detector activations, typically from inductive-loop detectors buried in the road surface.

The scheme started on 16th November 2009 and was completed on 17th December 2009 at an estimated cost of £300k.
