The Project

The eastbound carriageway between Marstow and Goodrich Cross on the A40 is worn out and has to be resurfaced.

Work was completed on 19 May 2009.

If the resurfacing was not carried out, the carriageway will continue to deteriorate reducing the friction available to help cars grip and brake. Eventually, the surface would also form deep cracks and ruts, which could cause damage to vehicles and also have the potential to cause accidents.

This scheme will improve the life of the carriageway and also improve safety and ride quality for road users.
