M3 Drainage Junction 4-3 Phase 2
The Project
The second phase of the improvements to the drainage system on the M3 between junctions 3 and 4 in Surrey have now been completed.
The scheme involved replacing the existing verge drainage on the southbound carriageway with a new and more effective drainage system, as well as the construction of an additional lane at the northbound diverge for the M3 at junction 3. Associated works included the construction of two retaining walls, earthworks drainage, safety barrier installation, surfacing and white lining.
Work on the 1km (0.6m) strectch of motorway began in February 2009 and was completed in late March 2010.
