What is the scheme?

A1089 Southbound Resurfacing Scheme.

What are the expected start and finish dates?

Thursday 12 March to Saturday 14 March and Monday 16 March to Thursday 19 March  (Unless work is delayed by bad weather. Allowances have been made for this in our planning).

What are the benefits?

The benefits include renewal of the surface, improved ride quality and improved road safety. The new surfacing should also reduce noise caused by traffic flow.

What are the hours of working?

22:00 to 05:30

What advanced signing will you have in place to warn people of the works?

Advance Warning Signs will be placed in appropriate locations on the approach to both the A13 Westbound & Eastbound Slips to the A1089.

What diversions routes will be in place?

These are two diversions in place for the works.

1) A13 Eastbound to the A1089 Southbound Closure Diversion

Traffic wishing to join A1089 Southbound from the A13 Eastbound will be diverted to the Orsett Cock Roundabout onto the A1013 Stranford Road to join the B149 Woodview at the Danesholes Roundabout. Traffic will continue in the right hand lane and take the 1st exit at Marshfoot Road Roundabout onto the A126 where they can take the 1st right to join the A1089 Southbound.

2) A13 Westbound to the A1089 Southbound Closure Diversion

Traffic wishing to join the A1089 Southbound from the A13 Westbound will be diverted to the North Stifford Interchange  onto the A1012 and then take the 2nd exit  at Treacle Mine Roundabout onto Lodge Lane. Traffic will continue over the Daneholes Roundabout onto the B149 Woodview. Drivers need to keep to the right hand lane until it comes to the Marshfoot Road Roundabout where they will take the 1st exit onto the A126 and then join the A1089 Southbound from the first right hand turn.

Is the work weather dependant?

Yes - resurfacing cannot take place during cold or wet conditions.

Will the works be noisy?

There might be some noise generated by the works, but this will be kept within permitted levels. We would like to apologise in advance for this.

Have you worked in liaison with local authorities?

Consultation has been made with Essex Country Council, Thurrock District Council, Essex Police & The Tilbury Dock Police.

Is this an accident cluster site?

No.
