A1089 Southbound Resurfacing Scheme
The Project
In March 2009, the Highway Agency carried out resurfacing work to replace old surfacing that had reached the end of its serviceable life, replacing it with a new low noise surfacing.
The benefits of this project are:
- reduced tyre noise
- improved road safety
- improved journey time reliability by reducing number of defects which would have required emergency repairs on this road, and
- improved residual life of the pavement.
