The Project

This scheme was a resurfacing project extending over 1km of dual 3 lane motorway and hardshoulder situated between Junctions 14 to 15 of the M6 motorway through Staffordshire. The road surface was worn out and needed replacing. The project provides a new quieter and safer surface and will minimise future maintenance disruptions.

The work started on the 12th January 2009 and were substantially completed as of 5th March 2009.

The scheme comprised of:

  • Pavement reinstatement;
  • Upgrade of verge road restraint system;
  • Repairs to ironwork;
  • Replacement of damaged asphalt kerbs;
  • Replacement of defective drainage pipes; and
  • Reinstatement of road markings.
