General

The weather has again been good to us over the last few weeks and the works are progressing well.  The two areas that have moved on most significantly are Lady Lane and Turnpike roundabout areas (detailed below).

Lady Lane Area

At Lady Lane you will have noticed that we have been laying kerbs and tarmac.  When these are complete they will give a clearer picture of the new road arrangements for Lady Lane.  The next stage will be to complete all the works required to open the road within the next few months.  Once open it will divert the current Lady Lane traffic over the bridge.  This will enable us to continue the cutting for the new A419 which currently stops either side of Lady Lane.

Lady Lane Area

Turnpike Roundabout Area

The Turnpike roundabout area has seen great change with the earth bund built up in front of Turnpike Road that will serve to reduce the impact the new carriageway will have along Turnpike Road.   Narrow lanes have been extended on the southbound carriageway to the extent of the site for the safe working in the area south west of the roundabout where work has begun to create what will principally be the new southbound carriageway.
