A21 Flimwell Crossroads Lighting Improvements
A21 Flimwell Crossroads Lighting Improvements
The Project
The Highways Agency advised road users that work to install new street lighting on the A21 Flimwell Crossroads near Hawkhurst in East Sussex began on Tuesday 25 March 2008 and lasted for two weeks.
The work was carried out to install a new system of street lighting as part of a road safety improvement scheme along a 0.6 mile (1km) stretch of the A21 at Flimwell crossroads. Road users will benefit from new lighting and improved safety columns that reduce the risk of injury in event of a collision.
Work was carried out daily from 9.30am until 4.00pm and overnight between 8.00pm and 6.00am. The daytime work involved preparatory and cabling work, and the lighting columns were installed at night.
