The Project
The existing cycleway/footway runs parallel with, and adjacent to the east side of the A38, at Station Road, Liskeard. Where Old Road passes underneath the A38, the cycle way/footway ramps down on both the south east and northwest approaches to cross it. On the south east side a set of 6 steps provides access to a ramp, and this impedes the safe passage of cyclists and mobility impaired persons.
Update
With the completion of the Dobwalls bypass and a further review of the use of this footpath a smaller improvement scheme is under consideration. Access without having to negotiate the steps can be achieved using the local road network.
