The Project

The Highways Agency has provided a safe means of travel between the villages of Dobwalls and Doublebois for pedestrians and cyclists.

The A38 in this location is a single carriageway, with hedges and embankments close to the road. The footpath cycleway has been located away from the road as much as possible, and will assist travel not only between the two villages but will also now provide the link to connect the industrial area at Doublebois to the town of Liskeard for pedestrians and cyclists.

The trees and shrubs growing on the Cornish hedge were cut down in preparation of the works.  This was done before the nesting season to prevent any loss of wildlife and the construction of the footpath started in early summer 2008.

The main works were undertaken during the late summer and were completed in November 2008.
