The Project
The following improvements and changes to traffic conditions at the A50/A38 Interchange, began on 10 July 2006 and was open to traffic on 29 September 2006:
- The speed limit has been reduced to 40mph around the roundabout.
- A new dedicated slip road has been constructed from the Toyota car plant to the northbound A38 entry slip road.
- New lane markings have been provided to reduce uneven queuing in peak hours and to help guide drivers around the gyratory.
- Additional signing and safety works have been provided to better inform drivers and to reduce the potential for accidents.
