A key objective of the Highways Agency is to support the sustainable development of the West Midlands region by engaging fully in the regional planning process. This helps to ensure that planning guidance is developed with a full appreciation of the performance of the highway network and an understanding of how this performance would alter in the future as a result of development pressures and background growth.
