Traffic Incident Management Bulletin

Welcome to the new Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Bulletin.  This is the primary method for the dissemination of information from the Post-Incident Cold debrief process.

Congestion

A cold debrief has recently been undertaken for an incident which took place on the M6 between Areas 10 and 13. This incident was of particular importance as it emphasised the need for robust cross border arrangements to be in place.

Severe Weather Conditions

During 2010 a number of incident management-based exercises have been carried out in various regions. This month, we look into some of the key themes and learning which have emerged from each of the exercises.

Burntwood Beast

The TIM Bulletin meets with a specialist supplier in the West Midlands which assists various Highways Agency Service Providers in cleansing the carriageway following a spillage. We look at its technical capabilities and call-out procedures.

This month we meet with the Emergency Planning Officer within the West Midlands who gives us an insight into the planning required for events within the region.
