Welcome

Welcome to the home page of the Public Guardianship Office (PGO). We hope that you find this site useful for finding the information you need about PGO services. If you have any problems downloading information from this site please call Customer Services on 0845 330 2900 and the information can be posted to you. Information about the Mental Capacity Act 2005 can be found by clicking here, and also by visiting the Department for Constitutional Affairs website at http://www.dca.gov.uk/legal-policy/mental-capacity/index.htm

We aim to take every opportunity to discuss with receivers any issues that concern them and the people whose finances they manage. To ensure that we manage all complaints as effectively and fairly as possible, we have introduced a complaints procedure which offers customers and clients the option of contacting an outside complaints examiner. You can find out more about this in the 'Putting things right' section of this site.

I hope you enjoy our site and find it useful and informative. I very much welcome your comments so please do send us your questions and feedback, using the contacts on this site or any of our email addresses.

Richard Brook

Chief Executive and Public Guardian Designate
