As part of the Government’s commitment to localism, decentralisation and the rolling back of regional government, Ministers announced in May 2010 the abolition of the Government Office for London.

The Government Office for London has now closed. The Comprehensive Spending Review 2010 confirmed that the Government Offices for the Regions will also be closed.  The GO Network will therefore close no later than the end of March 2011.

Work is continuing on the transition of work from GOL to other organisations.

The National Unit for Land Acquisition and Disposal has moved to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). More details can be found on the DCLG website, alternatively contact 0303 444 4391.
