Solar PV

Solar PVRun on behalf of the DTI the goal of the Energy Saving Trust's Solar PV programme is to create a long-term, sustained and viable market for solar photovoltaics. The funding, available to a wide audience, will make the technology an attractive investment for domestic to large scale projects.

For the latest news on PV grants, click here.

Solar PV installations fall into two categories:

  1. Bolt-on systems - these literally bolt onto the existing building (on top of roof tiles or vertical façade);
  2. Integrated systems - these replace roof tiles with PV tiles, or existing external cladding materials with PV cladding.

We offer PV grants for equipment and work that are directly related to the PV system - modules, inverter(s), installation, grid connection and warranty. Unrelated building work doesn't qualify.

Small-scale grants are subject to capping according to whether they're for a bolt-on or integrated system.
