New Business Support Strategy launched

emda’s latest Strategy for Business Support, "Encouraging Business Success", outlines our aims to simplify access to and improve the quality of support available to businesses in the East Midlands.

It offers opportunities for businesses to develop as well as setting out where regional business support should be in three to five years’ time.

Support for businesses in current economic climate

emda is offering a range of support to businesses during these challenging times, including the Survive and Thrive events.

£1 million is available over the next 12 months though the Business Transformation Grant, offering capital grants up to £10,000 on a match-funded basis for investment into plant and equipment to support resource efficiency.

This can be accessed through Business Link (0845 058 6644), which also offers free business ‘health checks’, priority training advice for small and medium-sized enterprises and financial information to help firms maintain a steady cash flow.

emda has also committed to paying invoices to suppliers of goods and services within 10 days. This will help regional companies who are finding the current economic climate difficult to remain profitable.
