Leadership role

I champion policies across government to promote equality and independent living for disabled people. I work with other government departments to enable them to deliver their commitment to disability and equality. I work closely with disabled people through an advisory group I set up to advise on the formation of policy and ensure it meets the needs of disabled people.

“Working with the Civil Service…has kept me challenged and interested.”

Working with the Civil Service, I have had a new job every few years which has kept me challenged and interested – even after 28 years.

I work with a huge variety of interesting and clever people and feel very well compensated for doing an important job. What I'm doing is changing the relationship between government and citizens – it's hard to think of something more far-reaching.

If you are interested in far-reaching, important work – join the Civil Service and make things happen.
