Code of practice

The Code of practice is to enable Members to place their contribution to the Committee within an agreed framework in order to:

• maximise the expertise they bring to the Committee and eventually to Ministers and officials
• ensure the strategic and confidential nature of DEAC's advice is maintained
• minimise misunderstanding and confusion over ways of working
• continue the mutual respect between Ministers, officials and Members.
