Additional information and photographs

Loader enlisted in 1914 as Private 2480 in the 4th Battalion Royal West Surrey Regiment.  At some stage he transferred to the London Regiment and was promoted to Lance Corporal.  He was in the London Regiment at the time of the award of his Military Medal (listed in the London Gazette of 9 July 1917). 

He is also commemorated on the Patent Office Memorial 1914-1918, now in Concept House, Newport.
