According to a Board of Trade list dated April 1918, Stewart Bence began his service as 2nd Aircraftsman and was promoted to
Aircraftsman, then Aerial Gunner.
Stewart Bence is also commemorated on the Patent Office
Memorial 1914-1918, which hangs in Concept House, Newport.
