Additional information and photographs

According to a Board of Trade list dated April 1918, David Beatty had been a Private with the Inns of Court Training Corps and was promoted to Lance Corporal on 27 June 1917. 

His very brief RNVR officer's service record begins on the same date (27 June 1917), recording his appointment as a Sub-Lieutenant and posting to Victory for service in the 63rd RN Division. He was listed as missing between 24 and 28 March 1918. On 9 April 1918 he was reported to have been killed on 25 March. (D Beatty, RNVR Officer's Service Record, PRO, ADM 337/124, page 399)
