The Technology
Programme April 2005 competition is now closed for new
applications.
Background
£100m boost for great British ideas
On the 25th April 2005 Lord
Sainsbury, Science and Innovation Minister announced the next
round of the Technology Programme. Lord Sainsbury urged UK firms
and research communities to get ready to apply for the latest
competition of funding from the DTI's £320 million Technology
Programme, which enables business-led ideas off the drawing board
and into the market place. Key stakeholders such as other
government departments (DEFRA), research councils and the regions
made contributions towards the total funding available in this

The
application process for projects within the first
six of these technology priority areas is a two stage process; an Outline
Application followed by a Full Application for projects successful
at the Outline stage.

The
application process for projects within the technology priority
area
Meeting the Challenge of the Zero Emission
Enterprise is a two stage process; a Feasibility Stage, with grants
available up to £50,000 followed by a Full Project Stage for
projects successful at the Feasibility Stage.

The
application process for projects within the technology priority
area
Validation of Complex Systems is a single
stage process with an additional period of due
diligence and interviews for short-listed applications. Projects
submitted in this area must be greater than £5m.
