Global Watch Missions

BERR's Global Watch service helps British businesses learn from leading organisations around the world to improve their competitiveness at home and abroad. It does this in various ways, including taking UK businesspeople on "missions" to overseas markets, which have a particular expertise in their area. Through the Global Watch programmes there have been four computer games missions - to the US, Japan, US/Canada and France, and most recently South Korea.

The first US mission, "Mobilising Entertainment Content", focused on how US brands are being brought to life on mobile phones. The Japanese mission was called "Games Are Like Fruit", and looked at the Japanese approach to developing digital games. The mission to the US/Canada, "Creativity is Not Enough", looked at how best to succeed in global games and publishing. The recent mission to South Korea entitled "Future on the Line", focused on the Korean market, and in particular the mobile and online games sectors. All of these reports can be downloaded from the Globalwatch website, or by following the links on the right hand side of this page.
