The Climate Change Projects Office (CCPO) provides UK businesses with an expert advice service and a means of accessing all areas of Government involved in climate change projects. A climate change project is defined as one which reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and is eligible for tradeable emission reduction credits. (Please note, although we provide links from this site to appropriate web sites, the CCPO is not an information source on general matters of climate change).
The CCPO has four principal functions:
to raise awareness of climate change projects and the important role that they can play in a company's business strategy
to offer specific advice in relation to individual project proposals
to provide the means through which businesses can find out about related Government activities and any available support, and
to contribute to UK Government policy-making and provide feedback to policy-makers on the experience of UK business.
We also facilitate business contacts between project developers and UK companies through a database of UK companies offering services related to climate change projects, and through our contacts with overseas companies and Government offices.
We can advise you on specific projects via e-mail, over the telephone or in one-to-one meetings. To help you prepare project proposals, we can assist you by
giving basic guidance
providing access to a wide range of professional services and advice
passing on experience from similar projects, where appropriate
advising on how to find potential project partners
advising on potential investors and funding sources
providing information about the markets for emission reduction credits, and
advising on the current status of international, European and UK policy on project eligibility and rules.
We may also be able to offer assistance with overcoming barriers to the approval of projects.
If you are a UK company and would like to take advantage of this service, please use the form to provide us with details of your project. The details will be sent to us via e-mail, and we will then contact you to see what assistance we can offer. The details will not be shown on our website or passed into the public domain without your consent.
As the same form is also used to collect details of projects which will be published, please tick the appropriate box at the start of the form to ensure the confidentiality of your enquiry.
