We are not responsible for regulation of the broadcasters. However, we do work closely with the relevant organisations. Further information on regulation of the broadcast industries can be found on the websites below:
Office of Communications (OfCom)
Ofcom is the regulator for the UK communications industries, with responsibilities across television, radio, telecommunications and wireless communications services. Ofcom exists to further the interests of citizen consumers as the communications industries enter the digital age
The BBC's constitution, finances and obligations are governed by Royal Charter and Agreement. Its Board of Governors appoints the Director-General, who heads the bodies in charge of the daily running of the Corporation. The Board of Governors is also responsible for regulating content.
