Maximising the economic benefits of hosting the Games

Our aim is to help UK businesses to maximise the opportunities offered by the Games and to enable the economy to fulfil the potential the Games represent, so building a legacy of globally competitive and innovative businesses. 

To achieve this, the BERR, in consultation with our key partners, has developed a Delivery Plan. Together with the lead government department for the Games, the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS), we have joint responsibility for making sure it happens.

The Plan's Vision is that:

BERR and partners work with individual UK companies, major business organisations (for example, the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), Institute of Directors (IoD), British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) etc.), trade associations and sectors. Together we are creating the conditions to enable businesses not only to take advantage of opportunities afforded by the Games, but also to achieve wider, sustained success and to respond to the challenges of globalisation.
