Chief Executive Appointments

INTRODUCTION

The filling of vacancies for Chief Executives is undertaken as vacancies arise. Chief Executives, who are also Deputy Chairs of their Councils, are full time and are paid salaries within 3 pay bands. They also receive performance pay of up to 20% of salary.

CURRENT VACANCIES

Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) Chief Executive

A Chief Executive is being sought for the BBSRC. The closing date has passed. An announcement of the appointment is expected to be made in the autumn.

Medical Research Council (MRC) Chief Executive

A Chief Executive is being sought for the MRC. The closing date to receive applications has passed. An announcement is expected to be made in late summer.

PREVIOUS APPOINTMENTS

Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)

Professor Ian Diamond has been re-appointed as Chief Executive of the ESRC for a period of 4 years. The press notice can be found under related documents.
