Renewable Heat and Heat from Combined Heat and Power Plants - Study and Analysis
Blank
In response to calls for the establishment of a renewable heat obligation during the passage of the Energy Act, the Government gave a commitment to undertake analysis about the scope and case for promoting heat from renewable sources.
In December 2004, DTI and DEFRA commissioned Future Energy Solutions from AEA Technology to look more carefully at the renewable heat and CHP heat market and likely carbon savings. Click here to read the final report.
Now that the scoping study is complete, we would like to invite comments from interested parties on the analysis provided by FES.
If you have any comments on the analysis, please submit them before 31 October 2005 by letter, fax or email to :

The Government will consider the costs and carbon savings for renewable heat and CHP technologies estimated by FES in the context of the Climate Change Programme Review, the recommendations of the Biomass Taskforce (which is due to report on 25 October 2005 and responses to the consultation on the Microgeneration Strategy and the Low Carbon Buildings Programme.
